Thyroidectomy - Simple

• Pre-op vocal cord evaluation.
• Beach chair w/neck extended.
• Transverse incision 2 fingers above sternal notch & raise subplatysmal flaps.
• Take upper pole vessels close to thyroid.
• Continue to mobilize thyroid anteriorly & medially.
• ID & preserve RLN & parathyroids throughout.
• Close in layers.
