Pulmonary Lymphadenectomy
- Lymphadenectomy/lymph node dissection/sampling. Start with this, which will be the subcarinal space and the paratracheal space for right-sided dissections and the subcarinal and anteroposterior window for left-sided resections.
- Subcarinal dissection is defined by the esophagus/aorta posteriorly, the mainstem bronchi superior and laterally, and the inferior pulmonary vein inferiorly.
- The paratracheal space is defined by the superior vena cava anteriorly, trachea posteriorly, azygous vein laterally, pericardium/aortic arch medially.
